Chloe Hathaway
Program Supervisor Assistant
In her own words, Chloe Hathaway has a “deep passion for supporting children’s individual emotional developmental needs, and value equipping children with tangible mindfulness tools to aid them in life.” A mother of two, and with over 10 years experience working with children in an assortment of ages and settings, Chloe brings her energetic and warm personality and love for early childhood development to her role as Program Supervisor Assistant at Kids U New Brighton.
Jessie Olmsted
Infant Lead Teacher
Jessie Olmsted has always had a passion to work with children, and embarked on her career early on in high school, when she took her child development assistant certification. With 10 years of experience in a variety of age groups, Jessie entered the Kids U family as an assistant teacher in the Infant classroom at Kids U New Brighton. She has since taken over the role of Lead Infant Teacher, and brings a new light and energy to the our youngest age group.
Elijah Sumugat
Junior Preschool Right Brain Lead Teacher
Elijah Sumugat’s official early childhood journey started when she began teaching children at Sunday School, but her true passion for Right Brain learning started when she was a young child herself. With a natural leaning towards exploratory, creative play-based learning, Elijah uses the power of imagination and discovery to inspire her students in the Junior Right Brain classroom at Kids U New Brighton. Elijah holds a Child Development Assistant certification, and a diploma in Child Psychology. She has been a part of the Kids U team for almost two years.
Diane Campbell
Program Supervisor Assistant
Diane Campbell began her career with Kids U as the Lead Movement Teacher in our Junior Preschool Program. With a background of many interests and passions, she provided the young students at Kids U New Brighton with a learning environment that was diverse, exciting, and full of growth. She has been coaching & teaching children of various ages & abilities for over 10 years, and in 2017, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Literacy from Mount Royal University. Recently, Diane has transitioned into the role of Program Supervisor Assistant at Kids U New Brighton, adding to the already wonderful leadership team that helps the campus run smoothly, day in and day out.
Elaine Alcoreza-Serrano
Senior Preschool Left Brain Lead Teacher
Elaine Alcoreza-Serrano has over a decade of experience working in childcare and early learning, ranging from teaching to program management capacities. She holds a certification in Early Childhood Education, and diplomas in Montessori Preschool/Kindergarten teaching and Early Childhood Development, and a Bachelor of Science in Commerce. Working with the youngest of learners is Elaine’s passion, and she has found happiness in helping the students of Kids U New Brighton’s Senior Preschool Left Brain classroom grow in all areas of their development.
Kay Nakamura
Senior Preschool Movement Lead Teacher
In conjunction with her education in the field of child development and care, Kay Nakaumra also holds extensive backgrounds in Sports certifications. For over six years, Kay has worked with children, teaching Ski, Karate and Multi-Sports. She is passionate about participating and teaching a variety of traditional sports and non-traditional physical education. To Kay, physical literacy is about having fun, challenging yourself, self discipline, being strong mentally, stress relief and the development of healthy eating habits, all aspects that make up the unique Movement program at Kids U.
Tavleen Kalirao
Senior Preschool Right Brain Lead Teacher
Working with kids has always been Tavleen Kalirao’s first choice, and she has always been amazed by their imaginations and creativity. Tavleen began her career with Kids U as a Float teacher in 2019 for an year, and her growth in her role allowed her to take over a position as an Assistant Teacher in the Senior Right Brain classroom shortly after. Her dedication to supporting children with their early learning journey and building confidence in each of her young students, has further taken Tavleen to her current role at Kids U New Brighton, as the Senior Right Brain Lead Teacher.
