Zara Somji
Program Supervisor
Zara Somji has over a decade of experience working in the field of early childhood education, teaching various age groups from infants all the way to kindergarten. Zara brings 5 years of experience as a director to her role as Kids U Centennial’s Program Supervisor, where she relishes in the opportunity to help children reach milestones and build special bonds with their educators.
Ruchicka Sharma
Senior Preschool Left Brain Lead Teacher
Although she has worked with children of many different age groups, Ruchika Sharma loves working with preschool-aged children best, because of their innocence “energizes and provides so much optimism” to her. Ruchika is the Left Brain Lead Teacher at Kids U Kids U Centennial. With a background as a Math and Computer Science teacher in India, Ruchika holds Bachelors of Education and Science in Mathematics, as well as a Montessori Early Childhood Certificate.
Jonny Petti
Senior Preschool Movement Lead Teacher
A favourite in whichever classroom he’s teaching in, Jonny Petti has always been great working with children. With a diverse background in many different fields, Jonny began his child care career in 2017, where his love of sports and outdoor activities led him to become a Lead Movement Teacher at Kids U. Jonny is currently a co-lead in the Senior Preschool Movement room at Kids U Centennial.
Pavneet Chahal
Senior Preschool Movement Lead Teacher
With a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from her home country, India, Pavneet Chahal has always had an interest in the growth and development of children. Upon moving to Canada, Pavneet then obtained an Early Childhood Education diploma from Durham College in Ontario. As a co-lead in the Senior Preschool Movement program at Kids U Centennial, Pavneet incorporates her love of exploring nature into the physical literacy curriculum.
Sean Macallum
Junior Preschool Right Brain Lead Teacher
When he was younger, Sean Macallum’s mother told him “Find a career that lets you play every day.” And as the Lead Teacher in the Junior Preschool Right Brain classroom, Sean has found just that. Starting out in the child care field with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance, and currently obtaining a diploma in Early Childhood Education, Sean has worked with toddlers and preschoolers for six years. In the Right Brain classrooms, Sean is known to break out his ukulele, making every learning opportunity a musical adventure.
Kiran Shivji
Senior Preschool Right Brain Lead Teacher
From midwifery to a Bachelor of Arts to early childhood education, Kiran Shivji has a wide range of expertise that brings a unique perspective to her teaching as the Right Brain Lead Teacher in Kids U Centennial’s Preschool program. As a firm believer in the concept of a lifelong learner, Kiran embodies all of the values of the Kids U teaching family.
Anika Rughani
Junior Preschool Left Brain Lead Teacher
Anika Rughani was born and raised in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. In 2016, she moved to Toronto and completed the Early Childhood Education course, subsequently working as a teacher for about 6 years since graduating. She is in the process of completing her Montessori diploma certification. Anika speaks over 5 languages like Hindi, Urdu, Swahili, which brings a unique multicultural element to her role teaching the toddlers in the Junior Left Brain program at Kids U Centennial.
